Open Mind, Discriminating Mind: Some reflections on Human Possibilities (book cover front)

For a couple of years I experimented with publishing my own newsletter, The Open Mind, with brief articles I wrote about aspect of consciousness, spirituality, and parapsychology.  I found it too much of a distraction from my main goal of discovering and sharing information about consciousness, spirituality, and parapsychology though, so I collected the best articles into this book, Open Mind, Discriminating Mind, and discontinued the newsletter – although it was interesting and educational to learn about all the practical work of being my own publisher back then (it’s much easier now if you publish through the web).

Chapters cover such things as remote viewing, lucid dreams, dream yoga, psychic healing, subtle energy, firewalking, how to use a psychic reading for personal and spiritual growth, the psychology of identification, living in illusion, selecting a spiritual path, altered states of consciousness and the search for enlightenment, and the possible survival of death.  Wide ranging and, since I readily admit I don’t believe that current religions and spiritual traditions know most of the answers, thought provoking…   In my career as a teacher, I’ve always found the most satisfying thing is when students start thinking about something instead of just taking notes on my apparently authoritative answers…

Note: I have included links, usually to Amazon for convenience, as it leads to more formal information and reviews by readers. Most of my books are in print in some form, some may have to be found used.
